Week in review

The Week In Review is a snapshot and “one stop shop” of articles we’ve written during the week and other content we’ve found interesting and come across on the internet. The topics will vary but generally should have some linkage and relevance to what we discuss. Perspective and knowledge can provide some wonderful insights and inspiration. Hope you enjoy the spin!

Sunday: If you can’t measure it, you can’t change it

Stuff we found interesting on the web:

  1. For those more interested in real estate investments this was really interesting to stumble upon. More people are buying vacation homes as their first home rather than the actual home they domicile in.
  2. One of the wealthiest people alive addresses the people outlining some of his personal thoughts as we close one year and enter another (and decade for that matter).
  3. For those scheming about retirement or heading into retirement why not ditch your mortgage and rent? Have some flexibility and see some things rather than being locked down in one place, forever.
  4. Should you choose to ignore point 3 here’s how much you need to save to live in each state.
  5. Is the stock market going to crash when the baby boomers cash out? Never thought of that happening to be honest.
  6. Completely off topic here, but I love desserts – especially those cooked in a cast iron skillet. So why not just abandon all pans that aren’t cast iron?

For those sports fans out there the Super Bowl matchup is set for next week: Kansas City vs. San Francisco. Who are you rooting for? I think I have to take K.C. in this one. My college roommate was from there and the BBQ was pretty good. Every Thanksgiving his parents would send us some from Jack Stack. Legit. Plus, they do the warchant (although not as good as FSU does – which is why the Marching Chiefs offered to do it for them, haha). Go Chiefs!
