Week in review

The Week In Review is a snapshot and “one stop shop” of articles we’ve written during the week and other content we’ve found interesting and come across on the internet. The topics will vary but generally should have some linkage and relevance to what we discuss. Perspective and knowledge can provide some wonderful insights and inspiration. Hope you enjoy the spin!

Stuff we found interesting on the web:

  1. Ever wonder what states provide the most value? It’s an important consideration whether you are planning where to retire or where you want to put your roots down. A few surprises were in there when I took a closer look!
  2. While we are researching states that stretch our dollars why not also review the tax situation for each? It’s a prudent thing to do after all.
  3. One city in California is seeing residents flock away from it. I’m kind of surprised it has taken this long.
  4. I’ve always wanted to own a sports franchise. Luckily for me Mrs. Spender enjoys sports just as much as I do. Sadly, we will never have the means for ownership…..until now?!?!
  5. What’s your take? Do you think the end of capitalism has started?

Welcome to November! Last night our little guy got a kick out of Halloween, he even enjoyed handing out candy. For just 2 1/2 years old I have a feeling this is just the beginning of this holiday given how well he has taken to it. From the pumpkins to the costumes and candy he was totally engaged. The pumpkin muffins with chocolate chips mom made were a bonus. I have to say it does make it a little more fun with the flood of memories coming back from our youth, but it definitely has evolved – one house had a nice little bar setup and was handing out adult beverages to the parents who were walking their kids around. And that woman deserves my 2019 Halloween award! Enjoy the season of Thanksgiving everyone!
