4 Random Things We Did This Weekend

Estimated Reading Time: 2 minutes

Sometimes spontaneous happenings make for the best times! This weekend certainly contained a few of them.

1) Grabbing a few pints at Mother Road Brewing Company

‘Mr. Spender’ had a colleague from London in town so he ventured up to Flagstaff, Arizona for a little adventure on Friday evening with the boys. We found ourselves at Mother Road Brewing which happens to be a micro brewery named after the famed Route 66. Highly recommend the Tower Station IPA!

2) A little downhill ski action at Arizona Snowbowl

There aren’t too many places in the world where you are able to ski for a few hours with fresh powder and then make the trek back down to Phoenix just two and a half hours later and play a round of golf. The golf didn’t happen because someone had a flight to catch back to London Saturday night but the skiing most definitely did.

3) Not one but TWO surprise birthday parties on a Saturday night

Believe it or not we got double booked. A friends mother turned 70 and a neighbor a few doors down turned 50. Both surprises. Who likes to party? We definitely did Saturday. Lot’s of great laughs and discussion. A stellar Nothing Bundt Cake and a heck of a good guitar player!

4) A Sunday evening fire

The weather has finally turned to what draws all the spring training crowds for early season baseball. It took a little longer than usual this year. After the little guy woke up from a nap we went on a mid afternoon bike ride to the dog park and let him run around to burn off some energy with some puppies. Then had a great grass fed burger at a local restaurant before heading home to unwind with a nice bottle of wine and an outdoor fire on our patio. Perfect way to end the weekend and prepare for the upcoming week!

Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend with whatever you fancied – rest, excitement or both! Have a great week ahead 🙂
