4 Random Things We Did This Weekend

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

We were busy enjoying the beautiful Arizona weekend while getting a few things done around the house.

1) Installing a new home security system

We spent our Friday night installing a new system, yep, life of toddler parents. After having our little guy, security has taken on a whole new meaning.  We live in a home that was built in 1957 and even though the brick walls have given us a sense of security, we felt it was time.  After some research by ‘Mr. Saver’, we took advantage of a President’s Day sale of the NEST system.  Most of the system has been installed by us to save on installation fees.

2) Fun at the Old Town Farmer’s Market

The weather was beautiful this weekend so we took a stroll through the Old Town Farmer’s Market in Scottsdale.  It’s one of the largest in our area and within walking distance to our home.  We picked up fish, farm fresh eggs and hummus.  The little guy LOVES this special hummus from the market, and as a mom of a toddler, when you find something they like you keep buying it!

3) Arizona Aloha Festival

Hawaii means a lot to our family, so whenever we can get a taste of the islands we jump at the opportunity, and lucky for us this weekend was the free Aloha Festival.   Lots of Hawaiian vendors, music and entertainment, crafts, sports organizations and of course Hawaiian food.   It was a fun, and cheap, Saturday afternoon.

4) Mrs. Spender went to Singh Meadows with the gals, while Mr. Saver played golf with the boys

We spent our Sunday morning with friends.  There is an old driving range, turned beautiful play area and market, not far from where we live.  So when the weather cooperates, Singh Meadows is at the top of our list. It’s so green and lush you don’t even feel like you’re in Arizona. There is also an amazing cafe serving breakfast and lunch, so it was the perfect spot for the moms and kids to enjoy. All the while the boys played 18 on a local course.

Cheers to a great week ahead!
